Jess Kowalczewski of Montclair, NJ, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, December 8th, 2018 at the age of 95.
He was born in Ostrowiec Swietokrzyski, Poland on November 23rd, 1923 to Roman & Marianna Kowalczewski. Jess settled in the United States in 1956 and had lived in Montclair since 1960.
He worked as an Industrial Computer Instructor in the Singer-Kearfott division of Lockheed Martin, Little Falls NJ for 16 years prior to his retirement 33 years ago.
Jess was a WWII Veteran of the Polish Home Army and attained the rank of Captain. He was a member of the Association of Polish Home Army Veterans. He was an enthusiastic sports fisherman, an avid and skilled Bridge player, and a diligent gardener.
Jess is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Janina (nee Carewicz) Kowalczewski; devoted father of Dorothy Nydam & her husband William, Yvonne Kowalczewski, and Christopher Kowalczewski; cherished grandfather of Christine Kowalczewski, Andrew Kowalczewski, Barron Nydam, and Alexandra Totten.
A Funeral Mass was offered Saturday, December 15th, 2018, in the chapel on the grounds of the Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery, 654 Ferry Road, Doylestown, PA. Interment followed in the cemetery.
