Lawrence John Hesterfer

Lawrence John Hesterfer, 85, of Cape May Court House, NJ died Saturday,September 3rd, 2016. “Larry”, who was born January 4th, 1931 inMontclair, NJ, was the son of the late LeRoy and Mary Hesterfer.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at the O’Boyle Funeral Home 309 Broad St. Bloomfield on Friday at11:00 a.m.  Interment will take place at Mt.  Upon graduating from high school, Larry proudly served in the U.S. Marinesduring the Korean War.  After his servicein the Marines, Larry’s love of flowers and talent for arranging them led himto establish and operate several florist shops in the Washington, DC area.  He was especially proud to have contributedfloral arrangements for President Johnson’s daughter’s wedding and John F.Kennedy’s funeral.  Upon returning to NewJersey, Larry enjoyed a successful carreer as an insurance adjuster. Later,after retiring from the insurance business, Larry found that he had a love andtalent for poetry.  He published numerouspoems and won several awards for his poetry.

Preceeding him in death is his partner of 40 years, John Pulaski.

Larry is survived by his sister, Gail Coleman and her husband Rob, ofLancaster, PA.  He is also survived byhis brother Greg and his wife Janice.  Heleaves behind several nieces and nephews namely, Liam, Sean, Tim, Melissa,Marcia, Janette and Wilson.  They willmiss him dearly.

Larry will always be remembered as a kind, thoughtful man who was alwaysthe “life of the party”.
