Leo J. Pruner

Leo J. Pruner, went home to the Lord on November 7, 2018, age 90 of Highland Beach, married to Joan for 61 years. Leo is survived by his wife Joan Pruner, sisters, Marion Dietrich and Agnes Kearns, his children – James, Robert, Frank Pruner (Lisa) and Linda Fay (Fred), his grandchildren – James Pruner, Robert Fay, Lorraine Fay, Jessica Sarli, Matthew Pruner and Amy Pruner. Leo is predeceased by his brothers, Francis Pruner, Eugene Pruner and James Pruner.
Leo retired from G.E. in 1990 and moved to FL. He graduated from Bloomfield High School and married Joan in 1957. He lived in Montclair for 5 years and lived in Caldwell, NJ for 29 years. Leo ushered at St. Aloysius, Caldwell and St. Lucy in Highland Beach, FL for a total of 53 years and also did Scouting in Caldwell for 18 years. Pack 3, Assistant Cub Master, Cub Master, Assistant Weblo Leader, Leader, Troop 3 Assistant Scout Master, Scout Master, Chairman for Explorer Post. Cross Trail Square Dance Club 1976 – 1990 – 2 year President. Called Square Dancing for 4 years and took State Blue Ribbon 2 years. In 4 camping clubs: Scout Families, Caldwellites Club, Cross Trails Square Wheelers, Garden State Square Dancers Club. In Florida served on Seagate Board of Directors for 2 years and was responsible for installations of a sprinkler system in four buildings, 4 A/C towers, all new docks. Finished painting four buildings, managed Seagate grounds and buildings for six weeks until a new manger was hired. In 2001 Leo joined the Community Emergency Response Team and in 2002 was made Leader of the group that has built up to 40 members and has over $5,000.00 in medical supplies for Highland Beach to be used in case of a hurricane or other emergency. Funeral Services will be handled under Babione-Kraeer Funeral Home 1100 N. Federal Highway, Boca Raton, FL 33432. Visitation is Monday, November 12, 2018, from 2 pm – 4 pm and from 6 pm – 8 pm.
A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at St. Lucy Catholic Church 3510 S. Ocean Blvd., Highland Beach, FL 33487 held Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at 10 am.
Entombment to follow after the Funeral Mass at the Gardens Mausoleum 4103 N. Military Trail, Boca Raton, FL 33431
