Lorene (Lori) Walley Essbach passed away August 21, 2015 at her retirement home in Brooksville, Florida, where she had enjoyed living for the last 16 years as an active member of the High Point community. After growing up in Wilmington, MA and graduating from the University of Massachusetts, she moved to Bloomfield, New Jersey to be an elementary school teacher, where she worked until retirement.
She dedicated herself to helping others and was known by family and friends for her generous nature. While she never had any kids of her own, the many hundreds of children that passed through her classroom learning to read and write were her kids. While her passing will be grieved by many, the enduring love she gave her family, friends, and students will live on in those lives she has touched.
She is pre-deceased by her husband John, her father Kenneth Walley, and brothers Kenneth Walley Jr. and Brian Walley. She leaves behind her mother, Helen Walley (Charlotte, N.C.), sister Joy Walley-Novy (Mooresville, N.C.), brother Keith Walley and sister-in-law D’Anne Sylvain (Springfield, VA.), sister-in-law Kathy Mercer-Walley (Londonderry N.H.), step-daughter Mandy Essbach (Bloomfield N.J.) as well as many nephews and nieces. Her life will be celebrated on Friday, April 1, 2016 at O’Boyle Funeral Home, 309 Broad St, Bloomfield, N.J. from 11:30-12:30, followed by a private internment of her ashes at Arlington Cemetery, Kearny, N.J.
