Margot A. Miko, born and raised in Jersey City. 45-year resident of Maplewood, died on Feb 4th surrounded by family.
Predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Al and her daughter Kathleen. Margot leaves behind her sister, Sr. Mary of the Sisters of Charity, children Kevin Miko of MI, Laura Nelson and husband Bob from NJ, Debbie Carmel and husband Tom from VA, as well as Patty and husband Jimmy also from VA. She was also beloved by 5 grandchildren, Timmy, Annie, Julia, Caroline and Emma.
After raising her children, Margot graduated in 1991 from Rutgers with a degree in Landscape Design.
She was a longtime member of St Joseph’s Church and later St Luke’s in Stroudsburg, PA where she owned her home until her passing. Margot worked for Maplelith, FPS, the Township of Maplewood and was self-employed. She also was a NJSIAA women’s basketball referee for over 10 years. An artist, creator and designer, she also loved her dogs, basketball, the Yankees and most especially, her family.
