Michael J. Canace

  Michael J. Canace, of Rolling Meadows, IL, formerly of Maplewood, NJ. On October 1st, following a courageous battle with ALS, at home, surrounded by loved ones.

  Raised in Maplewood, and a 1977 graduate of Rutgers University, Mike moved to Chicago in 1983 for business opportunities in sales and marketing.

  He was founder, and 19-year coach, of the Rolling Meadows travel youth soccer team, The Revengers, where he was respected and beloved by his players and their families.

  Mike felt his greatest achievement were his beloved children: Danny, Jessica, Molly and Abby. He is also survived by his former wife, Laura, brothers Bill and Bob (Cindy), and sister Barbara (Rick Phillips). Beloved Uncle to Jeanna and Lara Phillips, and Zachary Canace.

  Mike was a treasured friend and family member to many.

  He is predeceased by his parents, Bill and Jean Canace of Maplewood and Parsippany, NJ.

  Service: October 22, 2016, 10:30 am, The Wyoming Club, Millburn NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ALS Association, Greater Chicago Chapter, or Unity Hospice of Chicago.
