Olga Madsen (nee Signorelli), 99, of Union City, passed away on Sunday December 13, 2015 at Hospice of NJ in Wayne.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the O’Boyle Funeral Home, 309 Broad St. Bloomfield on Thursday at 9 AM. The funeral mass will be offered at Sacred Heart Church, 76 Broad St. Bloomfield at 10 AM. Entombment Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4-8 PM. Please express condolences at
Born the daughter of Italian immigrants Sabino and Concetta; the last of 5 children on January 18, 1916. She was predeceased by her husband of 35 years, William P. Madsen. Had called Union City, NJ her home for 97 years spending the last 3 years alternating between the Bloomfield and Nutley residences of her son William T. Madsen, wife Barbara and daughter Gail Tricarico, husband James surrounded by grandchildren Billy, Denise Madsen, Laura, Christopher Johnson, Christine, Paul Rodriguez, Christopher and James Tricarico.
She spent countless hours engaging in puzzles and savoring the chocolate from Krause’s Homemade Candy sharing her love of both with her great-grandchildren Liam, Alexander, Brian, Benjamin and Rachel.
Instilling in her children the importance of education, she juggled several jobs to send her children to private schools. It is with that foundation that we have requested any donations to be sent to St. Peter’s Preparatory School, 144 Grand St. Jersey City, NJ 07302 or
