Patricia S. (Gaffney) Turner, of Scottsdale, Arizona, peacefully entered the kingdom of heaven while surrounded by her family on November 2, 2016 at the age of 71.
Pat was born in Bloomfield, New Jersey on St. Paddy’s day 1945 to Ethel Lambert and John Milmoe. Patricia was preceded in death by an infant son “Mickey”, both her parents and most of her siblings (Fred Gaffney (Gloria) Mildred Gaffney, Helen Dobrovansky (Frank), Evelyn Reed (Bill), Wayne Gaffney (Jane) but one, her big sister Joyce Dembowski (Al). Patricia is survived by her three loving children Pattie, Michael and Frank Godleski. As a single mother, she instilled in them the meaning of love, hard work and her love of the lord. Patricia had many nieces and nephews who all loved their “crazy” Aunt Pat. She enjoyed being as much a part of their lives as her own children. She would often fly across the country and show up unexpectedly at significant events in their lives after telling them she couldn’t make it and usually ended up MCing the event. While she had many friends and family that she loved, her true love was Jesus Christ. Patricia was an ordained minister and got great joy out of spreading Gods word to anyone that would listen. She was also an avid volunteer, lending her time and talents on behalf of hospice patients, Mayo Hospital, Arrowhead Hospital, the Red Cross and was a Community Emergency Response Team member.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Patricia’s honor on Wednesday, November 9th, 2016 at 10 am at the Dream City Church Prayer Pavilion, 13613 N. Cave Creek Road Phoenix, Arizona 85022. Followed by a luncheon. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of the Valley www.HOV.org.
