Stephen V. Turro, 93, beloved husband, father, grandfather and uncle, peacefully passed away on Wednesday November 15th, 2017.
Visitation will be on Monday from 4-8 PM at the O’Boyle Funeral Home 309 Broad St., Bloomfield. Relatives and friends are also invited to attend the funeral service at Park United Methodist Church, 12 Park St. Bloomfield on Tuesday at 10 AM. Born and raised in East Orange , Stephen moved to Bloomfield where he lived for the past 39 years. He was an Army Veteran of WWII and retired as the Superintendent of Public Works for the Borough of Roseland in 1990. After retirement he became “senior” supervisor for his grandson’s company, Schellhorn Ground Services. Stephen was a member and head usher at Park United Church as well as a member of the Elmwood Tigers in East Orange.
Stephen was the husband of Florence (Polhemus) Turro for 64 years; father of Stephen A. and his former wife Christine, Dona M. Schellhorn and her late husband Richard, and Michael J. and his wife Monique; brother of the late Mary Pasquarosa and Ann, James and Rose Turro; grandfather of Matthew and Mark Schellhorn, Jackie Kline and her husband Stephen, Cameron, Angelina, Nicholas and Sophia Turro. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
