Belleville HS boys’ basketball team falls to Union City in state tourney opener to end season

BELLEVILLE – The Belleville High School boys’ basketball team, seeded 16th, lost at top-seeded Union City, 79-53, in the first round of the state North Jersey Section 1, Group 4 tournament on March 1.

With the loss, the Bucs finished the season with a 9-17 record.

Alcides DosReis had 14 points; Mohammed Yousef had 10 points; Kayson Wilder had seven; James Laquindanum had six; Andre Velez  added five; Adrielle Henson and Brandon Torres each chipped three and Adrienne Henson added two for BHS.
