Belleville HS boys’ soccer team defeats Newark Collegiate to advance in ECT

BELLEVILLE, NJ – The 19th-seeded Belleville High School boys’ varsity soccer team defeated No. 30 seed Newark Collegiate Academy, 6-0, Oct. 13 in the preliminary second round of the Essex County Tournament.

Anthony Coppiano and Kevin Manjarrez each had a goal and an assist for the Bucs, who notched their second win of the season to improve to 2-10-2.

Bryan Garquila, Tochio Herrera, Emilio Padilla, and Kenith Real each had a goal. Lucas Fonseca, Walter Recinos, Kevin Riera, and Marcelo Urgiles each had an assist.

The Bucs will visit No. 14 seed Science Park in the preliminary third round on or by Oct. 16. The winner will visit third-seeded and defending champion Seton Hall Prep in the round of 16 on or by Oct. 18.
