BELLEVILLE, NJ – The Belleville High School varsity football team continued its best start ever.
The Bucs defeated Kearny, 24-0, Saturday, Sept. 29, to improve to 4-0 for the first time in program history.
Senior Eric Rivera rushed for 63 yards and a touchdown on just three carries and also returned a punt 80 yards for a score. Rivera also had two receptions for 41 yards.
Sophomore Derek Leigh rushed a team-high 73 yards on 13 carries.
Senior quarterback Matt LaTorre completed seven of 16 attempts for 83 yards, including a 12-yard TD to junior John Castrenada.
Junior TreVon Myrick had three catches for 16 yards. Junior Jiustino Cincere had one reception for 13 yards.
Senior George Escobar kicked 2 of 2 point-after attempts and also made a 39-yard field goal.

The Bucs will host West Side on Friday, Oct. 5. West Side fell to Nutley, 29-16, Sept. 29, to move to a 2-3 record.
