BELLEVILLE – Priscilla Olivarria scored 25 points; Jehann Dabon had 11 points and four steals and Yanyckza Flores had 10 points to lead the Belleville High School girls’ basketball team to its first win of the season, 65-19, over Montclair Immaculate Conception in the consolation of the Glen Ridge Holiday Tournament on Dec. 28.
Gianna Benacquista had four points and six rebounds; Helena Dropic had four points and two assists; Keila Garcia had four points and three steals; and Janelle Ramirez had four points for the Bucs, who improved to a 1-3 record. Sydney Gomez had three points and three steals; Janae Bryant grabbed four rebounds; and Emani Hill had two rebounds.
The Bucs lost to St. Elizabeth, 62-45, in the opening round the previous day. Benacquista had 15 points, nine rebounds, four blocks, two assists and two steals; Dabon had 12 points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals; Olivarria had 11 points and three rebounds; Hill scored four points; Garcia had two points, three assists, three steals and two rebounds; and Bryant had four rebounds.
