Belleville HS softball team sweeps doubleheader against University

BELLEVILLE – The Belleville High School varsity softball team swept a doubleheader against University on April 27 at Corino Softball Complex at Clearman Field in Super Essex Conference-Colonial Division action.

Kristan Lombardi had four hits and an RBI; Kaila Freid and Breana Nieves each had two hits and three RBI; and Gianna Benacquista had two hits and two RBI in the 16-0 win in the first game.

Freid had four hits and three RBI; Brittany Huaman had three hits, including a double and triple, with four RBI; Benaquista had two hits and three RBI; and Augustina Garrido, Gabby Racioppi and Sydney Gomez each had two RBI in the 19-0 win in the second game.

The Bucs improved to 9-4 overall and 8-2 in the SEC-Colonial Division.
