Belleville HS softball team wins season opener

BELLEVILLE – Kristan Lombardi went 4-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI and three runs and CherylAnn Nicosia went 2-for-3 with two RBI to lead the Belleville High School varsity softball team to an 11-1 win over Bloomfield Tech in the season opener on Friday, April 1, at the newly-named Carl Corino Softball Complex at Clearman Field.

Breana Nieves had a triple and two RBI; Lucianna Gilfone went 1-for-3 with two RBI and two runs; and Kaila Freid scattered six hits and struck out eight for the win. Victoria Bruno also scored two runs.
