BLOOMFIELD, NJ – Cedar Crest College Director of Athletics, Wellness & Recreation, Dr. Allen G. Snook Jr., has named current Cross Country Head Coach, Alec Duncan, as the Head Outdoor Track Coach.

“I could not be more happy with Alec’s appointment as the school’s first Head Track Coach”, stated Snook. “Since the first time I met with Alec, I have been nothing but impressed with his work ethic, recruiting ability and knowledge of these sports.”

Duncan, a 2011 Bloomfield High School graduate who has been the Falcons’ Cross Country coach since 2016, is about to enter his third season and will now begin recruiting for the recent addition of Outdoor Track.

“This is an incredible opportunity for me to grow as a coach and professional,” stated Duncan. “I’m appreciative of Dr. Snook, President Meade, the cabinet and everyone else who had a part in the approval of track and my appointment as the head coach.  I’m excited to get started and build a strong program.”

Duncan is no stranger to Track. He was a four-year standout at Moravian College, where he competed in Fall Cross Country, Indoor Track and Outdoor Track. In Duncan’s freshman season with the Greyhounds, he earned Conference Rookie of the year, following that up with becoming the 2013 Landmark Conference Champion in the steeplechase. In 2014, Duncan turned in a second-place finish in the Conference Championship in the 1500-meter and a fourth-place finish in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) steeplechase finals in 2015.

“I’m hoping to bring in student athletes that are excited to be a part of something new and create a culture of success and hard work,” continued Duncan.  “Because the track program is starting with a blank slate, the athletes and I will have the opportunity to set the standard for years to come.”

Cedar Crest College will begin recruiting student athletes to the program immediately in preparation for the Spring 2020 season.

Cedar Crest College is located in Allentown, Pa.
