Bloomfield HS baseball team loses to West Orange

BLOOMFIELD – Junior right fielder Danny Carter went 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs and senior second baseman Luis Rullan went 3-for-4 with two runs and a RBI, but the Bloomfield High School varsity baseball team lost to West Orange, 11-5, April 8 at Bloomfield Middle School field.

Sophomore outfielder Ed Abplanalp went 1-for-3; senior center fielder Dionisios Bello went 1-for-4 with a double, run, and a stolen base; sophomore catcher Craig Dittrich went 1-for-3; junior Joe Giliberti was 1-for-1; and Brian Rennie was 1-for-3 with a double, a hit by pitch and a run.

WOHS scored a run in the top of the fourth to tie it 4-4 and scored seven runs in the fifth to take an 11-7 lead.

BHS fell to 2-2.

In the Bengals’ previous game,, Carter and Abplanalp each went 1-for-3 and they both scored a run in the 12-2 loss at Montclair on April 6.  Saccaro went 1-for-1 for BHS.
