BLOOMFIELD – The Bloomfield High School boys’ and girls’ track and field team excelled at the Super Essex Conference-Liberty Division Championships at Schools Stadium in Newark on May 14.
Aniyah Allen captured gold medals in both the girls’ high hurdles (15.17) and high jump in which she broke the school record with a leap of 5 feet-4 inches in the high jump.
Myles Toppin won the boys’ triple jump and set a meet record at 44-0.
Jared Dockett won the boys’ long jump at 20-5 and Aicha Naouai won the girls’ javelin at 113-10.
The boys’ team finished fourth in the boys’ team standings among the seven teams, while the girls’ team finished third in the girls’ team standings among the seven scoring teams.
The Bengals will gear up for the Essex County Championships at Woodman Field in Montclair, May 20-21.
