Bloomfield HS boys’ basketball head coach Pat Brunner notches 300th career win

BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The Bloomfield High School boys’ varsity basketball team improved to 2-0 on the season with a 79-42 home win over West Caldwell Tech on Saturday, Dec. 16, giving head coach Pat Brunner his 300th career victory.

Junior guard Michael Ramos scored 20 points; junior forward Will Robinson had 12 points; junior center Isiah McCallam and senior guard Kyle Barrow each had eight points; and sophomore guard Vinny Torrisi had six points for the Bengals.

In the previous night, the Bengals defeated Newark Tech, 61-46, in the season opener at home.

Senior guard Richie Guillaume scored 21 points and Ramos had 19 points to lead the Bengals. Barrow had 10 points; Robinson had nine points; and senior center Mayowa Akindebe had two points, eight rebounds, and four blocks for the Bengals.

Brunner is in his 13th season as Bengals head coach. He previously was the head coach at Verona and Elizabeth.
