Bloomfield HS boys’ basketball team falls to Newark Central

BLOOMFIELD – Francis Lorenzo scored a game-high 21 points and Najeem Wilson had 20 points, but the Bloomfield High School boys’ varsity basketball team fell to Newark Central, 59-53, at home on Jan. 12. Myles Toppin had seven points for the Bengals, who lost their third straight game to move to a 3-7 record. Central led 27-24 at halftime and outscored Bloomfield, 17-11, in the third quarter for a 44-35 lead.
