Bloomfield HS boys’ basketball team moves to 12-4 record

BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The Bloomfield High School boys’ varsity basketball team split two games last week, beating East Orange Campus and losing to Newark Central to move to a 12-4 overall record and 5-3 in the Super Essex Conference-Liberty Division.

Kyle Barrow scored 20 points to lead the Bengals to a 47-44 division road win over East Orange Campus on Jan. 23. Michael Ramos and Richie Guillaume each had 11 points.

Barrow and Ramos each had 16 points in the tough 56-54 division loss to Central at home on Jan. 25. Mayowa Akindebe and Richie Giullaume each had seven points; Aaron Henry had four points; and Kevin Mitchell and Will Robinson each had two points. The loss snapped the Bengals’ four-game winning streak. Central beat Bloomfield in both division meetings this season.

The seeding meeting for the Essex County Tournament was scheduled for Jan. 29.
