BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The Bloomfield High School boys’ varsity basketball team features a good returning nucleus this season, looking to improve on last year’s 9-17 record.
The Bengals, under 12th-year head coach Pat Brunner, will begin the season on Friday, Dec. 16, against Verona at BHS.
The Bengals will then host West Caldwell Tech on Saturday, Dec. 17, at 12:30 p.m.
The key returning players are senior forward Myles Toppin, junior 3-point specialist Kyle Barrow, senior center Al-Samad Henderson, sophomore point guard Mike Ramos, and senior guard Francis Lorenzo.
Other players include Richie Guillame, a transfer from Orange, sophomore guard Kevin Mitchell, and 6-foot-5 forward Miwowa Akindele, who is a junior transfer. Henderson and Akindele are both battling knee injuries.
Brunner’s coaching staff consists of Mike Passaro, Mike Aldiero and Sean Downey.
