Bloomfield HS boys’ basketball team tops Verona in season opener

BLOOMFIELD – The Bloomfield High School boys’ varsity basketball team tipped off the season in fine fashion as the Bengals outlasted Verona, 54-44, at BHS on Friday, Dec. 16, in the opener.

The experienced Bengals are hungry for success after enduring some growing pains during a 9-17 season last winter.

Richie Guillaume had 21 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals; Michael Ramos had 14 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists; Francis Lorenzo had 5 points; Mayowa Akindebe had 5 points and 5 rebounds; Kyle Barrow had 4 points and 4 rebounds and Myles Toppin had 3 points and 5 rebounds.
