BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The Bloomfield High School boys’ cross-country team clinched the Super Essex Conference-Liberty Division regular-season championship with an undefeated record.

The Bengals clinched the title with wins over Newark Academy and Belleville on Sept. 27 at Branch Brook Park in Newark.

The Bengals entered the meet with a 7-0 record, facing off against division rival Newark Academy, which also was 7-0. The preview showed a strong NA team, but the Bloomfield boys rose to the challenge and dropped their team average time by 45 seconds with every member of the varsity team running personal bests. The performance earned the team the title of SEC champs with a regular-season record of 9-0.

Come cheer on the boys at Branch Brook on Wednesday, Oct. 5, as they take on the entire Liberty Division and race to be crowned Division Meet champions!
