Bloomfield HS boys’ soccer team jolts MKA for first win of season

BLOOMFIELD, NJ – Sahil Doshi scored two goals and Marco Colasurdo had a goal as the Bloomfield High School boys’ varsity soccer team defeated Montclair Kimberley Academy, 3-2, Sept. 13 at Watsessing Park for its first victory of the season.

Mesmin Dembassa, Jean Pereya, and David Quinatoa each had an assist and Matthew Vitella made six saves for the Bengals.

Bloomfield then fell to Livingston, 3-1, Sept. 15 at Watsessing Park to move to a 1-2 record.

The Bengals lost to Glen Ridge, 3-2, in overtime on Sept. 17, at Watsessing Park. Colasurdo had both goals and Pereya had an assist for the Bengals, who moved to a 1-3 record.

In the season opener, BHS fell at Verona, 2-1, in double overtime Sept. 7.
