Bloomfield HS boys’ soccer team ties Newark Academy, falls to Clifton to start season

BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The Bloomfield High School boys’ varsity soccer team tied Newark Academy and lost to Clifton in its first two games of the season.

Junior James Paule scored the goal for the Bengals in a 1-1 tie with Newark Academy on Sept. 9 in Livingston. Sophomore Matthew Vitella made eight saves for BHS.

The Bengals lost at Clifton, 2-1, Sept. 10. Sophomore Jason Ricca had the goal for BHS, which received 10 saves from Vitella.
