BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The Bloomfield High School varsity football team fell at Montclair, 51-14, Saturday afternoon, Oct. 13, at Woodman Field in Montclair.
The Bengals lost their third straight game to move to 2-5 on the season. Montclair improved to 4-3.
Senior quarterback Kyle Tice hit senior Brandon Holt on a 23-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter, and senior running back Joseph Orsita scored on a 1-yard in the third quarter for the Bengals. Senior Ethan Wittner kicked both extra points.
It marked the first time since 1991 that the teams did not meet during the Thanksgiving Holiday. Incidentally, that game, won by Bloomfield, also marked the debut for current BHS head football coach Mike Carter.
The Bengals will host West Orange on Friday, Oct. 19. West Orange fell to Passaic County Tech, 12-6, at home on Oct. 12 for its third straight loss to fall to 2-5.
