BLOOMFIELD, NJ (corrected, Sunday Sept. 25, 8:45 a.m.) – The Bloomfield High School varsity football team simply has been spectacular in the first three games of the season.
The Bengals ran their record to 3-0 with another dominant performance as they crushed North Bergen, 35-7, Saturday, Sept. 24 in North Bergen.
Brandon Fernandes scored two touchdowns. Fernandes scored on a 4-yard run in the first quarter and Victor Saccaro kicked the extra point to give BHS a 7-0 lead.
North Bergen tied it 7-7 later in the first quarter.
The Bengals scored three touchdowns in the second quarter to take a 28-7 lead. Fernandes had a 94-yard TD run. Quarterback Ryan Mondo then hit Myles Toppin on TD passes of 32 yards and 10 yards. Victor Saccaro kicked the three extra points.
In the third quarter, Mondo scored on a 1-yard run and Saccaro kicked the extra point.
