BLOOMFIELD – The Bloomfield High School girls’ varsity basketball team, under head coach Dana Morton, won three games last week to extend its winning streak to five and improve to a 8-1.
Senior forward Aniyah Allen had a strong game with 21 points, 19 rebounds and three blocks to power the Bengals to a 57-41 win at Caldwell on Jan. 12. Junior guard Grace Cannon had 17 points, five assists and five blocks; junior guard Genesis Collins had six points; senior guard Samantha Corio had five points; sophomore forward Aicha Naouai had four points with 12 rebounds, three steals and three blocks; and sophomore guard Raquel Plata had four points.
Cannon had 12 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals; Allen had 10 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two blocks in the 55-20 home win over St. Vincent Academy on Friday, Jan. 15. Junior forward Jalia Santos had nine points and four rebounds; Plata had four points, five rebounds and three assists; Corio had four points; Collins had four points, three rebounds, two assists and two assists; freshman guard Camrynn Referente had three points; Naouai had six rebounds; and sophomore Grace Perrotta and Kaitlyn Martinez each had two points.
Cannon had 25 points,five assists and four rebounds; Allen had 20 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks in the 61-24 win at Belleville on Saturday, Jan. 16. Collins had 10 points, four rebounds and four assists; Senior guard Jennifer Schlageter had four points; senior forward Gracielle Richards posted two points and seven rebounds; and junior forward Kasey Coury and Santos each had four rebounds.
