BLOOMFIELD, NJ – Sophomore Asiyah Edmond had 17 points and senior Sarah Edmond had 14 points, 18 rebounds, six assists and six steals to lead the Bloomfield High School girls basketball team to a 59-21 home win over Montclair, Jan. 30, in a Super Essex Conference-Liberty Division game.
Freshman Chiara Hilario had 11 points and junior Samantha Columna had eight points, 15 steals, six rebounds and five assists for the Bengals, who improved to 10-5 overall and 8-2 in the division.
The Bengals received the No. 12 seed in the Essex County Tournament. They will host the winner of No. 21 Golda Och and No. 28 Montclair Kimberley Academy in the preliminary third round on Feb. 7. The winner will advance to the first round (round of 16) on Feb. 9 at No. 5 seed Immaculate Conception of Montclair.
