BLOOMFIELD, NJ – Samantha Columna, a junior, scored 26 points and senior Sarah Edmond posted 10 points and 21 rebounds to lead the Bloomfield High School girls’ basketball team to a 49-45 win over Newark Academy in the season opener Friday, Dec. 14 at home, giving Zac Dearwater his first win in his debut as the Bengals head coach.
Sophomore Melina Hidalgo had six points and freshman Chiara Hilario had five points for Bloomfield.
