Bloomfield HS girls’ cross-country runner Camrynn Referente wins individual title at SEC-Liberty Championships

NEWARK – Camrynn Referente finished in first place overall to lead the Bloomfield High School varsity girls’ cross-country team at the Super Essex Conference Championships held at Branch Brook Park in Newark on Oct. 3.

Referente, a junior, clocked 21:01.7 among the 64 runners.

The BHS girls’ team finished second in the team standings in the SEC-Liberty Division at the meet. BHS had 48 points. Verona was first with 40 points among the 10 teams.

Other BHS runners were senior Natasha Senatus, fourth place overall, 22:15.2; junior Da-Xia Colon, 12th place, 22:45.8; sophomore Joke-Sindy Casimir, 15th place, 23:06.7; sophomore Amanda Giunta, 16th place, 23:12.0; freshman Celin Escobar, 20th place, 23:21.3; senior and Veronica Yanez, 22nd place, 23:46.4.

Meanwhile, the BHS boys’ team finished seventh out of 10 teams in the team standings of the SEC-American Division.  The Bengals were led by senior Enrique Campos, 16th place out of 67 runners, 17:10.9; senior La’Shan White, 26th place, 17:43.1; senior Mark Cabrera, 33rd place, 17:53.6; and senior Evan Fitzhenry, 43rd place, 18:28.8.
