BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The Bloomfield High School girls’ varsity soccer team, under first-year head coach Jon Aliaga, was off to a 1-1-1 start to the season.
The Bengals defeated Belleville, 1-0, in the season opener on Sept. 9 at Brookdale Park. Sophomore Kaitlyn Martinez scored the goal for BHS.
BHS then lost at Whippany Park, 9-0, Sept. 10.
The Bengals tied West Orange, 2-2, Sept. 12, in West Orange. Senior Sarah Bsales and junior Grace Perrotta each had a goal; and sophomore Melanie Rodriguez had one assist.
