BLOOMFIELD – The seventh-seeded Bloomfield High School girls’ varsity volleyball team lost to second-seeded Livingston, 9-25, 17-25, in the quarterfinals of the Essex County Tournament on Oct. 25 at Livingston to move to a 13-10 record.
The Bengals were led by Melissa Marte (seven kills and six digs), Kourtni Carty (11 assists and seven digs), Aicha Naouai (three kills and three digs) and Niav Berutti (four digs).
BHS received the No. 26 seed in the state Group 4 tournament and will visit seventh-seeded Hillsborough in the first round on or by Nov. 2. The winner will face the winner of No. 23 Hackensack and No. 10 Randolph in the second round by Nov. 4.
