Bloomfield HS quarterback Eli Simmons accepts scholarship to play football at Lackawanna Community College

BLOOMFIELD – Bloomfield High School senior Eli Simmons has accepted a football scholarship to Lackawanna Community College in Scranton, Pa.

Simmons  was a captain and a two-year starter at quarterback for the BHS Bengals. He had an outstanding senior year and was named first team All-Super Essex Conference. He also was voted Most Valuable Player by his teammates. Simmons is an outstanding sprinter for the BHS track and field team, competing in the 100-meters, 200, 400 and relays. He would like to study to be an English teacher.

Lackawanna finished ranked No. 12 nationally and had 27 players earn scholarships to Division 1-A, 1-AA, or Division 2 this past year.
