BLOOMFIELD, NJ – Bloomfield High School senior football standout Joe Bumpus, pictured at right, was among the recipients of the Scholar Athlete Award given by the Essex County Chapter of the National Football Foundation during a ceremony held at Mayfair Farms in West Orange on March 6. With him is BHS assistant football coach Eddie Capozzi. Bumpus, a star linebacker who was nominated for the award by BHS head football coach Mike Carter, will attend the University of Rochester on a full academic scholarship. He will participate in track and field in college.
