BLOOMFIELD, NJ – Senior Kristina Collins went 3-for-4, including her 100th career hit, and scored three runs to lead the Bloomfield High School varsity softball team to a 12-1 win at North Bergen on May 8.

Sophomore Jamell Quiles went 3-for-4 with five RBI and three runs scored and sophomore Lexi Corio went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI. Senior Melissa Marte pitched six innings of one-hit ball with four strikeouts.

The Bengals then lost to Mount St. Dominic, 12-1, May 9, in North Caldwell and lost to Caldwell, 2-0, May 11, at Clarks Pond South to move to a 8-12 record.

BHS is the No. 16 seed in the NJSIAA North Jersey Section 1, Group 4 state tournament and will visit No. 1 seed Fair Lawn in the first round on May 17.
