Bloomfield HS spring teams get ready for season openers

BLOOMFIELD – The Bloomfield High School varsity spring teams are getting ready for their seasons, which begin this Friday, April 1.

The baseball team will host Caldwell in the season opener at Bloomfield Middle School. BHS then will visit Nutley on Saturday, April 2, at 3 p.m. The Bengals finished with a 17-11 record last season, including reaching the quarterfinals of both the Greater Newark Tournament – which is the Essex County tournament – and the state North Jersey Section 1, Group 4 tournament.

The softball team, which will visit Nutley in the season opener, looks to improve on last season’s 7-16 record. The boys’ volleyball team will host Montclair in the season opener. The Bengals reached the Essex County Tournament semifinals, losing to Livingston, and hopes to improve on last season’s 13-14 record.
