Bloomfield HS track and field standout Lowell Kelly-Gamble wins shot put events at SEC, Essex County Relays

BLOOMFIELD – The Bloomfield High School boys’ and girls’ indoor track and field teams each finished seventh in their respective team standings at the Super Essex Conference-American Division Championships on Dec. 27 at the Jersey City Armory.

For the boys, Lowell Kelly-Gamble won the shot put with a throw of 54 feet, 10 ½ inches, while Jethro Louis took eighth at 37 feet, 6 ¾ inches.

For the girls, Mackenzie Presume finished sixth in the 400-meter run in 1:04.18; and Nora Boussatta finished fourth in the 1,600-meters in 5:49.30.

At the Essex County Relays on Jan. 3 at the Jersey City Armory, Kelly-Gamble and Noah White combined to win the boys’ shot put relay. Kelly-Gamble had the best throw of the meet at 52 feet, 2 inches, while White tossed 36 feet, 11 inches. On the girls’ side, Tynise Robinson, Presume, Da-Xia Colon and Boussatta took fourth in the distance medley relay in 14:19.18.
