BLOOMFIELD – The Bloomfield High School track and field teams enjoyed strong showings at the Essex County Relay Championships at Livingston High School on Friday, May 6.
The girls’ team finished seventh overall among the 22 scoring teams in the girls’ team standings, while the boys’ team finished 12th overall among the 21 boys’ scoring teams.
Senior Aniyah Allen was the meet’s top high jumper at 4 feet, 9 inches, and sophomore Aicha Naouai was the meet’s top javelin thrower at 94 feet, 9 inches to lead the BHS girls. Naouai and freshman Kaitlyn Martinez combined to finish second the javelin relay.
Myles Toppin, a junior, was the meet’s top boys’ long-jumper at 19-9 to lead the BHS boys. Toppin and junior Jared Dockett combined to finish third overall in the long jump relay.
