BLOOMFIELD, NJ — The Bloomfield High School boys and girls track-and-field teams swept Orange during a Super Essex Conference dual meet on April 14 at Foley Field’s John A. Gibson Track and Field Complex.
The boys won, 113-7, while the girls won, 102-25.
With the victories, the BHS teams each improved to 5-0 on the season.
Here are the BHS winners results:
Boys
- Elvin Darius, senior, four events – 400 intermediate hurdles, 100-meter dash, 400-meter dash, 110-meter high hurdles.
- Cristian Armstrong, junior– long jump; triple jump and (tie) high jump.
- Bryan Wilson, freshman, 1,600-meter run.
- Robert Wolf, senior, 3,200-meter run.
- Zaire LaRue, junior, (tie) high jump.
- Anthony Armestar, junior, pole vault.
- WIlliam Cordero, sophomore, shot put.
- Dave Louis, sophomore, dIscus.
- Denzel Bryce, senior, javelin.
Girls
- Kaitlyn Adams, junior, two events – 1,600-meter run, 800-meter run.
- Kailyn Sayers, sophomore, 400-meter intermediate hurdles.
- Mercedes Cruz-Fletcher, freshman, 100-meter high hurdles.
- Flavia Capet, sophomore, 3,200-meter run.
- Angel Cruz-Fletcher, sophomore, long jump.
- Taylor Copeck and Alexis Laviola, juniors:: (tie) pole vault.
- Albina Frangu, junior, shot put.
- Sarah Hartland, sophomore, discus.
- Svetlana Devalin, freshman, javelin.
The BHS teams, under head coach Terry Iavorone, have since won their next two meets to improve to 7-0 records on the season.
