BLOOMFIELD – Bloomfield High School wrestlers Barak Pipkins and Adam Lutick, both juniors, ended their stellar seasons at the state tournament at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, March 4-5.
Pipkins was seeded No. 8 in the bottom bracket of the 170-pound class, while
Lutick was seeded No. 7 seed in the top bracket of the 220-pound class.
Both Pipkins and Lutick lost in the preliminary round on Friday, March 4. Pipkins lost to unseeded Elias Vega of Carteret by a 10-2 major decision, while Lutick lost to unseeded Jack Sweeney of Middlesex by a 4-2 decision.
On Saturday, Pipkins and Lutick both lost in the wrestlebacks first round to become eliminated. Pipkins lost to Zach Richard of Paulsboro by an 8-3 decision and Lutck lost to Chris Hayes of Brick Memorial by a 9-3 decision.
Pipkins finished 31-11 record, while Lutick finished with a 34-7 record.
