Bloomfield HS wrestlers Danel Felix and Xavier Gulley compete at Region 3 tournament

BLOOMFIELD, NJ – Bloomfield High School wrestlers Danel Felix and Xavier Gulley competed at the Region 3 tournament held at West Orange HIgh School.

Felix was pinned by Sebastian Cornejo of Morris Catholic in 44 seconds in the first round at the 132-pound class on Feb. 21 to become eliminated.

Gulley decisioned Domenick Castellano of Morris Catholic, 3-1 in sudden victory-1 in the first round at the 285-pound class on Feb. 21. Gulley then was pinned by Joe Andes of Hackettstown in the quarterfinals on Feb. 23 in 3:29. The next day, Gulley lost to Columbia’s Galileo Hetherington, 2-1, in the wrestleback quarterfinals to become eliminated.

Felix and Gulley were the two BHS representatives at the region tournament, which consisted of the top three finishers from the districts.
