Bloomfield HS wrestling team improves to 7-1; gears up for ECT

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — The Bloomfield High School wrestling team swept a home quad meet on Saturday, Jan. 11, defeating North Bergen, 41-29, Hackensack, 52-24, and Morristown, 36-28, to improve to 7-1 on the season.

The previous night, the Bengals lost to Caldwell, 44-27, at home.

The Bengals will gear up for the 45th Essex County Tournament today and tomorrow, Jan. 16-17, at Richard J. Codey Arena. The tournament will begin at 4 p.m. on Jan. 16 with the preliminaries, pre-quarterfinals and quarterfinals. On Friday, Jan. 17, the semifinals and wrestlebacks will begin at 4 p.m. and the championship round will begin at 8 p.m.
