Bloomfield Sr. Legion baseball team splits two games in District 1 tournament

BLOOMFIELD – The Bloomfield Senior American Legion baseball team split two games in the state District 1 tournament.

The team, consisting of Bloomfield High School players, lost to Parsipanny, 5-0, Saturday, July 16, at the New Milford Sports Complex.

The next day, Bloomfield stayed alive in the double-elimination tournament with an 8-3 win over Lyndhurst at Breslin Field in Lyndhurst, located at 300 Riverside Ave.

Bloomfield’s game against Broad Street Park on Monday, July 18, was postponed due to rain and was scheduled to be played July 19 at Breslin Field. Bloomfield won the American Division title of the Essex County League this summer with a 15-4 record.
