Bloomfield wrestlers fall to West Essex 53-18

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — The Bloomfield High School wrestling team lost to West Essex High School 53-18 on March 31.

Winning bouts for West Essex: Ethan Kerlin pinned William Ungermah at 0:11 in the 106-pound weight class; Joey Macrino had a sudden victory 4-2 against Juan Millan in the 113-pound weight class; Mike Pescatore pinned Yeicob Suriel at 1:37 in the 126-pound weight class; Ricky Cassidy won a major decision 12-3 against Ramin B-Razavi in the 138-pound weight class; Carson Barry pinned Justin Stephens at 4:47 in the 145-pound weight class; Mike Maglione pinned Milazim Maliqi at 1:44 in the 152-pound weight class; Anthony Lombardi pinned Adrian Ortiz at 1:23 in the 160-pound weight class; Matt Zaccaria won a major decision 11-0 against Sebastian Mendez in the 170-pound weight class; Nicholas Lagreca pinned Christopher Kopacz at 2:08 in the 182-pound weight class; and Luca Salvatoriello won by forfeit in the 285-pound weight class.

Winning bouts for Bloomfield: Gerald VanBaelen won a 9-2 decision against Jack Ruane in the 120-pound weight class; Ernesto McRae had a sudden victory 6-4 against Mario Trigazis in the 132-pound weight class; Zachary Andruchowitz pinned Luke Struss at 0:51 in the 195-pound weight class; and Dillon Jennings pinned Joseph Janish at 5:07 in the 220-pound weight class.
