BLOOMFIELD, NJ – For the second time this season, William Paterson University freshman outfielder Dan Carter, 2017 Bloomfield High School graduate, was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Baseball Rookie of the Week, the league office announced March 19.
The winner of the same award on March 5, Carter went 14-for-24 for a .583 batting average during six games last week, collecting three doubles, four RBIs, six runs scored and a stolen base. He finished a combined 4-for-8 with a steal, two RBIs and a run during a 6-1, 4-5 doubleheader split with Anderson March 13, and was 4-for-5 with two doubles and a pair of runs scored in a 3-2 win March 14 against Ripon.
He finished the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational with a 4-for-5 effort during a 10-2 victory March 17 against Becker, posting a double, two RBI and a pair of runs.
Carter is the son of BHS current head football coach Mike Carter Sr.
