Nutley HS softball team defeats Bloomfield in season opener

NUTLEY – Samantha Echevarria went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI and Lauren Hogan also went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI to lead the Nutley High School varsity softball team to a 10-0 win over Bloomfield in the season opener Friday, April 1, at Yantacaw Park.

Emily Holden fired a one-hitter with 11 strikeouts.

Danielle Pomponio went 2-for-4; Stefanie Ziemer went 2-for-2, Cassie Angelo had a double and Emily DeAngelo and Breanne DeMaio each score two runs.
