BLOOMFIELD, NJ — The Bloomfield High School girls soccer team defeated Linden, 4-0, Monday, Sept. 30, at Brookdale Park.
Junior Gianna Feliciano, sophomore Rachel Maldonado, sophomore Kayla Silva and senior Gina Perrotta each had a goal. Sophomore Jaelyn Oramas and freshman Emily Haracka each had an assist.
BHS junior goalkeeper Gwen Reoch made 14 saves for the shutout.
Bloomfield defeated Newark East Side, 8-1, Wednesday, Oct. 2, in Newark for its fourth win in the past five games to improve to 4-6-1. Feliciano and Maldonado each had two goals; Silva had a goal and an assist and Oramas and senior Caroline Vigna and sophomore Dayelen Guimaraes each had a goal.
The Bengals, seeded 13th, were scheduled to host No. 20 seed East Orange in an Essex County Tournament preliminary round game on Tuesday, Oct. 8. The winner will visit No. 4 seed Mount St. Dominic in Caldwell today, Oct. 10. The quarterfinals are Saturday, Oct. 12.
