EAST ORANGE – The East Orange Campus High School boys’ indoor track and field team tied for 20th in the boys’ team standings at the state Group 4 Championship meet on Feb.19 at the Bennett Complex in Toms River.
The Jaguars had six points based on the top six finishes in each event, tying with Paterson Kennedy, Paterson Eastside and Ridgewood.
Akeem Lindo finished fourth in the 55-meter dash in 6.58 and finished fifth in the 55-meter meter hurdles in 7.85 in scoring all of the Jaguars’ points. Charon Jenkins took seventh in the high jump at 6 feet. Immyouri Etienne was 17th in the 800-meter run in 2:03.23.
On the girls’ side for EOCHS, Mary Pierre-Louis was ninth in the preliminaries of the 55-meter dash in 7.48 and Kevaray Gilette was 12th in the preliminaries of the 55-meter hurdles in 8.94.
Lindo qualified for the state Meet of Champions on Feb. 27 at the Bennett Complex. The top six finishers in each event, plus wild-card berths, qualified for the state Meet of Champions.
The state Group 4 meet consisted of the top six finishers from the sectional meets.
